NORTHERN SHENANDOAH VALLEY AUDUBON SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP

Dear Friends and Members of Shenandoah Audubon,

The Chapter's membership year starts on April 15th each year.  The membership application form can be requested from us via email as an electronic PDF.  It can also be viewed here and printed.  You can mail us a check without the form, but please note that it's for membership.

Donations to the Chapter are fully tax deductible as of November 20, 2009, and they help support local programs and projects that raise community awareness of environmental conservation and protection.

By sending our renewal reminder electronically, we are helping to keep our costs down by reducing our volume of printing and mailing, and helping the environment by reducing the demand for paper, ink and delivery fuel.

In addition, we are making every effort to reduce costs by only printing the Oak Leaf newsletter in limited quantities:

 -  for local members who choose to not receive an email copy,

 -  to distribute to local schools and partner organizations,

 -  to hand out at events, such as the Blandy Garden Fair.

If you choose to mail your dues payment without printing the membership form, please:

 -  mail your $15 annual dues check made out to NSVAS (scroll down to view address), and

 -  write your email address in the Memo section of your check if you want your newsletter sent electronically.  Those of you who opt for electronic newsletter viewing, thank you for helping us in our effort to "go green"!

Thank you for your continued support!

- NSVAS Board of Directors

LOCAL MEMBERSHIP: Local Membership annual dues of $15 per household/organization cover basic chapter operating expenses including printing/mailing of the OAK LEAF newsletter four times a year, notification of special events, web site fees, and liability insurance.  We can only guarantee that our member data base list is accurate for Local Members who have paid the $15 annual dues and keep us informed of any change of address - our lists are not sold or distributed to other organizations.  You do not need to belong to the National Audubon Society to be a Local Member of the Northern Shenandoah Valley Audubon Society chapter.

Dues do not cover Shenandoah Audubon projects (i.e.: Bird Counts, Audubon Arboretum, Blandy Blue Bird Trail, Andy Guest Blue Bird Trail, Bird and Bat Nest Box construction, youth birding initiatives), which continue to rely on donations of time, talent and monetary contributions, or projects which are expected to be self-sustaining (i.e.: NSVAS Scholarship at LFCC, Hawk Watch, field trips).  Please return the upper portion of the form with your check to our Treasurer.

DONATIONS: All donations made in addition to annual membership dues are greatly appreciated, no matter how small.  As of November 20, 2009, all donations are fully tax deductible according to the IRS.*

THANK YOU for your interest in, and support of, the work of the Northern Shenandoah Valley Audubon Society and for your participation in our activities.  Any comments or suggestions, particularly for our public programs, are welcomed.
